The graduate course“Biochemistry and Cell Biology of Apicomplexan Parasites”in this semester will discuss the parasitic mechanisms of parasitic protozoa, especially Apicomplexa parasites. The topics will include but not are limited to: sugar and lipid metabolism, parasite invasion, and gene regulation. The lecturer Nishith Gupta is from Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a well-known expert in the field of host-parasite interactions (particularly interactions between host cells and parasitic protozoa Toxoplasma gondii, coccidia, Cryptosporidium, etc.) and parasite metabolism.
